How do I book a session?
Please call or email me with your equiry. I will respond as soon as possible.
The discussion will center around your hopes, your budget and what we can accomplish within your budget. Once everyone is clear on everything, you will be required to sign a contract and make a deposit. At this point your session will be considered booked. Until payment/signing of contract, I accept other work on said dates, based on payment of deposit and signing on contracts.
What is included in the amount I pay for a shoot?
Charges include - but may not be limited to - my time, my talent, equipment, various expenses and sundries related to the shoot (which may include assistants or a second photographer), editing after the shoot (Post Production), preparing and providing them for you in a format to both share and utilize.
Can I print my own images?
You certainly may. Bear in mind that the contract you sign has the disclaimer where images not printed through me are not guaranteed for quality. This is because the majority of printers ruin the colours and the image utiliziing mass/cheap printing processes. Printed images (on whatever medium) which are ordered through me, are done by professional printers who provide only the best quality.
How does payment work?
I require a 50% deposit on booking and the final amount is due the day before the shoot.
Do you do videography?
At this point the only videography I do is personal work
When do I get my images?
Depending on the type of shoot, photographs may be available within 48hours, up to 2 weeks for weddings and other larger events. When you have a specific deadline in mind, this should be communicated at the time of planning in order for me to be able to accommodate your special needs. Urgent results may elicit an additional fee as I may have to decline work in order to give your images priority.
What happens to the other images taken on the day?
You will have been supplied with a specified amount of the best images. There usually will be additional images which you will be able to purchase at a set fee per image/size/format as an optional extra. No images can be ordered after 12 months from the date of the shoot
What is your style of photography?
In photographing people, I have a distinct preference for natural light, natural backgrounds and spontaneous moments. However, I do enjoy the variety of styled shoots, studio work and formal portraiture. Please browse my work to see the general style of my images, and decide if this appeals to you and your family.
Can I buy the RAW files?
Generally you would have no use for the RAW files. RAW files are not made available excepting in rare circumstances when they could be made available at a fee and subject to contract.
Do you travel?
I do travel. This will entail additional expenses, but you could find upon discussion, that this may be a viable option for your specific needs.
What venues do you use?
Babies, children and in cases, family and maternity shoots, are done in your home environment which contributes to the most relaxed atmosphere. Other venues which you have in mind (including public spaces) usuallyrequire a fee and all bookings must be on paper. I have a portable studio and can bring it into certain environments where formal studio style images are required. Depending on the day's requirements this may elicit an additional fee.
What format do I receive the final product in?
The price of your shoot may include a basic number of images. These will be supplied on a CD/DVD in high resolution Jumbo size, as well as a watermarked websize, which you are welcome to share with friends and family or on Social Media. Images bought seperately from the session fee may also be supplied as above.
What is required of me?
You need to call or email me with your specific requirements. We can discuss what your hopes (and sometimes budgets!) are and when you decide to book me a deposit as well as signing of a basic contract will be required to confirm booking. From there I will communicate all that is required of you, each step of the way.
How long do shoots take?
This very much depends on what is required. Shoots can last from 15 minutes for new Social Media profile images to 3 hours for newborn shoots to an entire day or more for weddings.
Any other questions?
Please contact me with any other enquiries you may have - no question is stupid or ridiculous.
